The NARO10 series passenger cars, once used for express trains such as "Tsubame," "Hato," and "Hatsukari," were primarily assigned to limited express services starting in 1960. Their livery transitioned from Maroon to Blue.
Subsequently, all cars were retrofitted with air conditioning, which increased their weight and led to a formal reclassification as the ORO11 series.
