The EF63 is an electric locomotive introduced when the old Apt section of the Shinetsu Main Line between Yokokawa and Karuizawa was replaced with a new line. It was in operation until the opening of the Nagano Shinkansen following the privatization of JNR.
The EF63 can be broadly categorized into two types based on the manufacturing period: the first and second types, which differ in features such as the position of the lightning arrester and the shape of the tail lights.
This product reproduces the locomotive's appearance shortly after its introduction, showcasing the traditional brown paintwork that exudes a sense of solidity.
