Returns and Exchanges Policy
(For orders shipped internationally, including to the United States)
Our Policy
Due to the delicate nature and high value of our model trains, we generally do not accept returns or exchanges for reasons other than defective products or incorrect items being shipped.
We appreciate your understanding that all sales are considered final once the order is shipped.
Exceptions: Defective or Incorrect Products
We take the utmost care in quality control, packing, and shipping every order. However, if your item arrives damaged (scratched, dirty, or non-functional) or is different from what you ordered, please contact us immediately for assistance.
To be eligible for a resolution (replacement or refund), you must report the issue to us within 7 days of the item's arrival.
How to Report an Issue:

Take clear photographs or a video showing the defect or damage.

Email us at customer@tenshodo.co.jp with your Order Number and the supporting media (photos/video).

We will assess the issue and provide instructions for the return or exchange process.
Important Notes on Condition

All claims must be made within the 7-day period. Claims made after this period will not be accepted.

The item must be returned in the original packaging, including all accessories, manuals, and protective materials.

Important: Customs Duties and Import Taxes
All international orders, including shipments to the United States, are shipped DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid) from Japan.
This means that the recipient is responsible for all customs duties, import taxes, brokerage fees, and any additional charges levied by the destination country's customs office. These charges are not included in the product price or shipping costs paid to Tenshodo.
You will be contacted by the courier (e.g., FedEx, DHL, USPS) upon arrival in your country to arrange for the payment of these fees.
Duty Amount Disclaimer
We cannot advise on the exact amount of duties or taxes, as these charges are determined by your local customs office based on the product's classification and value.
We strongly recommend that you contact your local customs authority or a shipping calculator service prior to placing your order to determine the potential additional costs.
Refusal to Pay Duties
If the recipient refuses to pay the required duties and taxes upon delivery, the order will be returned to Japan.
In this event, any resulting charges for return shipping, customs clearance, and associated fees imposed on Tenshodo will be deducted from your refund, or the package may be abandoned without a refund.
