The product reproduces the appearance when it was used to haul the sleeper express "Hayabusa" on the Kagoshima Main Line.
Equipped with the Quantum System, this model can produce sound even when operated with a non-digital power supply controller.
The front and back headlights, taillights, and cab light feature LED lighting.

The C61 class was the first Hudson-type steam locomotive in Japan, built using the same boiler and other components as the D51 freight locomotive to meet the rapidly increasing demand for passenger transportation after WWII.
It was used to haul upper-class trains on the Tohoku Main Line and in the Kyushu area.
