The model is the prototype when the train apeares that after second and later units. This type was also lent for running tests on the Tokaido Main Line.
The Type 7000 LSE(Luxuary Super Express) is the 3rd generation of Odakyu Electric Railway's traditional Super Express.
The train follows the structure and facilities of its predecessor, the Type 3100 NSE, and the rounded design of the Type 3100 was replaced by the straight design that was the trend in the 1980s.
In 1982, the train was lent to Japan National Railways (JNR) for a test run between Ofuna and Atami on the Tokaido Main Line at a maximum speed of 130 km/h. The train was also awarded the Blue Ribbon Award by the Japan Railfan Club in 1981.
